"Why don't you take my picture when I dive?" she asked me with a glowing face. She had just come out of water. With a great effort I was able to refuse her innocent request.
Once again I had been to Banganga to test my brother's new compact digital camera.
It was a warm Sunday morning of winter. A few local girls and some guys were swimming in the tank. Warm sun rays brightly sparkled deep-green water of the tank. Ducks were moving here and there looking out for their breakfast. I shot some pictures of the guys diving. This girl was excited by the idea of being photographed while diving.
She was endowed with an innocent smile, and her beautiful eyes! She was neither well educated, nor she had fancy clothes to wear, nor she was decorated with designer's ornaments to show off ostentatiously, nor she had the latest laptop and cellphone to flaunt. In spite of all that she had something in her which most of very busy, highly ambitious and filthy rich modern hi-society doesn't have. That was truly an innocent smile and the eyes full of child like energetic awe!
Location: Banganga-Mumbai, Nov 07. Camera: Canon Powershot A640.

And if I may add a "puneri" comment, the signature on the pictures is quite jarring, though I understand why you deem it necessary!

Well done Abhijit !
