For a while it looks like a scene from Dal lake - Kashmir. But it is not! It's Powai lake in Mumbai.
Since a long time I had been planning to go to Powai lake; especially in winter! Somehow I had to go to Powai in the beginning of Monsoon 2007.
It had rained a lot in the morning. It was still drizzling in the afternoon. I was scared to take out the camera in open air. Fortunately I found a shelter under a huge mango tree, and I could take a few shots.
Powai Lake was built by the British at an initial cost of Rs 6.5 lakh in 1890. It was named after Framaji Kavasji Powai Estate. In December 2005, IIT Bombay's Class of 1980 decided to raise funds for the Revitalization of Powai Lake.
There are a few crocodiles in the lake:-)
