Why do we see so many colorful faces on the occasion of Holi?

Well, it is linked to the era of Dwapar yuga. It was Lord Krishna who popularized the tradition of Holi. The origin of the colorful and sporting tone of Holi lies in the childhood of Krishna. It all came up as part of his mischievous acts done for fun and amusement.

Krishna used to drench the village girls with water and colors. Other boys joined in, making it a popular sport in the village. Later, the play accepted a new dimension. It added more colors to Krishna's legendary courtship with Radha. The same tradition has been inherited through the ages, transforming it into a community festival. Later, the culture spread roots to other regions of the country. The Holi played by Krishna is documented in hundreds of ancient paintings, murals, sculptures and scriptures.

Event: Holi 2010, Banganga, Mumbai.

This Krishna has played his holi to its fullest. I wonder how you managed to convince him for this solo shot. The wheel of time has grind slowly but surely, but still the festival of colors has remained with us and not faded away. Once again good job buddy.
