A village man salutes the Nation with the Indian national flag in front of the Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai.

The Nation pays homage to victims of 26/11 attack. Memorials and events were held in Mumbai with the message "we are strong". Police demonstrated a show of strength on Thursday, as Mumbai marked the first anniversary of terror attack that killed innocent people.

Residents lit candles, people waved Indian flags and banners with slogans such as "We are strong". Police commandos with new weapons and armoured cars marched on the route taken by the terrorists who encountered the attack.

There was a prominent feeling in each and everyone's eyes who had gathered near Taj Mahal hotel..."We just want to show our support and show that we care!"

    It is a salute to the nation and the nation pays homage to the 26/11 victims. It is nice to see people showing solidarity and unity. What a lovely shot in the fading light. Great composition… You have captured a wonderful movement.
