Moment of ecstasy

Moment of ecstasy

It was 7.30 in the morning; I went to a nearby garden for a stroll. The summer has just begun. The gardener had just finished watering the plants and the soft, warm sun rays gave a fresh glow to the fauna around me. Students appearing for the 10th standard board exam were sincerely studying in groups. Senior citizens were engaged in healthy morning walks around the garden.

In the niche of the garden I saw this baby in the lawn. His uncle; who was studying beside him, was busy memorizing the mathematical formulas. Watching this bundle of joy playing with the grass blades was the moment of ecstasy. The moment he put down his head to the lawn, the naughty grass blades delicately tickled his tiny nose. :-)

Aha! That must be the secret behind a divine smile!! He was so engrossed as if in a meditative trance!

  • The light is awesome. What time was it? And what was the light source?

  • Well… the kid is really in its own world. Sometimes I feel like praising and appreciating kids’ innocence in this cruel world. A nice capture though…

  • Great lighting, great composition, great DoF, and great expression on the child's face. I'm just nitpicking here, the shadow on the legs is a little distracting. Not sure if it's somebody standing there or if it is the child's head.

  • I envy the ability of little children to completely immerse themselves into the joy of a simple moment...somehow as we get older, we forget how to do that. Thanks for sharing that lovely photo! :)
