Soap-bubbles vendor

Life is limping back to normalcy! Mumbai has withstood many such blasts and its spirit is indomitable. On the third day of the attack people went back to their business as usual. We are naive enough to hide our helplessness under the guise of the so called city spirit.

In the mean while I saw a soap-bubbles vendor near Gateway of India, who was hopelessly wasting fragile spheres of soap bubbles in the air, though there were not many children around to buy his wares. Survival of the fittest, eh?! Mumbai’s workaholic life really seemed to be back to normalcy. That’s how it should be! Let the government and the officials take action, civilians should get back to normal life as soon as possible.

My beloved monumentI went to Taj nearly 20 days after the attack. The place has become a more popular tourist spot and is fetching more crowd than ever.

By taking pictures everyone was trying to capture the moment of being a witness to the beloved monument. I was no different either!

Hell with the politicians! You could see this statement on one of the posters displayed which represented in a better way peoples’ anger towards the inactive politicians. Though most of the city is back to normalcy, there are some people who are still protesting sincerely and calmly. Sometimes calmness is more powerful than a mere chaotic blunder. I appreciate these peoples’ calmness, patience and most importantly the willingness to express and share their heartfelt feelings.

I had set the camera to Auto mode, but still the flash didn’t fire even at such a low light condition. Had the flash fired, the faces of the protesters would have looked brighter.  Look at the awesome sky! By this time the sky was at its best!

The protestI found these humble protesters more sensible and brave than some communal folks who in disguise kept on sending hateful SMS messages within 48 hours of the attack. Instead of standing together hand in hand when our beloved nation’s pride was attacked, some people took this as an opportunity to spread their dormant hatred towards each other. Each community has some communal extremists.

United we stand, divided we fall!

We always neglected this fact, which is causing us big trouble. It is time to wake up!!!

Shivaji MaharajLet me conclude this over-long rendezvous with Nokia N79, with my favorite subject of photography – Silhouette!  In the middle of the itinerary, I settled down on the garden lawn in front of Gateway of India to take a break. This lovely statue was standing high to my right side where I was sitting.

Having looked at it, it didn’t take much time for me to see the possibility of a silhouette. Excellent subject against a bright background! Due to space restrictions, I couldn’t get a good angle to shoot. I set the camera to Auto mode and clicked. I have also tweaked the image to get unusual colors in the sky.

Thanks for being with me. :-)
